When?

We are getting married at 4.15PM on Saturday 21st March 2026. Please aim to arrive at the venue from 3.30PM onwards.

Is there parking on site?

Yes, there is parking, but please note that return coach transport will be provided from Newark to the venue so you can have a drink and not drive if you wish.

What’s the format?

We are having a civil marriage ceremony followed by a very relaxed celebration which is all about our family and friends getting together with us and celebrating our marriage.

It’s definitely not going to be fancy. It is going to involve music, beer and dancing.

Timings

We are getting married at 4.15PM and the party will go on until midnight.

Is food provided?

We will be serving a hog roast (veggie option is available) at around 6PM and nibbles later in the evening.

How should I dress?

Any way you want. There isn't any particular theme (other than relaxed) but take note that we are partying in an American Barn; there will be line dancing taking place and I’m sure at least some members of the wedding party will be sporting cowboy boots and Stetsons.

What will the weather be like?

Who knows! Please bear in mind that we will be in a barn and a marquee. There will be heating (and no doubt you will be dancing all night which will keep you warm) but it might be an idea to bring a warm layer/coat (just in case).

Is transport provided?

Yes. We will be providing coach transport for all guests who wish to use it from The Travel Lodge, Newark to The American Barn at 3.15PM on Saturday 21st March 2026 and then returning to Newark at midnight. You will need to book this in advance with us when you RSVP.

Where would you recommend we stay?

There are a number of hotels and other accommodation options available in the area so you can make your own suitable arrangements. Please note, however, that if you wish to use the coach transport provided, it is only departing from and returning to The Travel Lodge in Newark.

We would therefore recommend staying at The Travel Lodge, Beaumond Cross, Portland Street, Nottinghamshire, Newark, NG24 1XG.

They only have 66 rooms and we anticipate high demand so would advise booking early.

Can I camp on site?

Unfortunately, no. But you could camp at Woodland Waters (see above) or half a mile from the venue at Fulbeck Waters if you wish.
